What is the the best way to keep my eyes healthy? 
     Keep your body healthy.  Eat a well-balanced diet and exercise regularly.  Sunglasses can help prevent damage to your eyes from the sun and its UV rays.

What is a cataract?
     A cataract is due to clouding of the lens inside the eye.  It usually occurs with aging.  There is no known way to prevent cataracts.  A cataract that impairs vision can be removed with surgery.

What is glaucoma? 
     Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve in the back of the eye.  If left untreated,  glaucoma can lead to peripheral vision loss.

What eyedrops are good for dry or irritated eyes?
     Artificial tears are eyedrops that lubricate and soothe the eye.  They are very safe and are available over-the-counter.

What eyedrops are good for itchy eyes?
     Itchy eyes are usually from allergies to pollen, dust, or other particles in the environment.   Oral medications for allergies usually do not help with itchy eyes.  Fortunately, there are several eyedrops available over the counter that can help with allergic conjunctivitis.

Why are my eyelids sticky and my eyes red in the mornings?
    
    This is usually due to a condition called blepharitis, which is inflammation of the oil glands in the eyelid.
